If I could leave a -5 star that's what they would get. When you lose a loved one the last thing that you want to do at calling hours. Is spend all of your time trying to get everything to work. And leaving to go to a store and getting the stuff that you need spending your own money. I was out side when I was coming back in there was 2 elderly ladies coming up the steps. As one of the employees was standing there on his phone texing or playing a game I don't know . I went ahead and opened and held the door. His phone was More important than the family that just lost a loved one. They also like to joke. Like if you want to go inside that will cost you 50 dollars. Guys this is not the time or place to joke. We also had to load the flowers going to the cemetery are self. when we came back to get the flowers we had to do all of that ourselves. One employee was in shorts and a T-shirt like he had just got out of bed. Thanks to my cousin that had just lost her father for making all of this happen. If it wasn't for her I don't think anybody there would have stepped up and done that. She should have been spending time with her family and dealing with a loss one not having to deal with doing all of this. Very disappointed with this place. I 100% would never use them.
The only reason they are getting one star is because they price was great and the staff very nice and polite. Everything else.......was a disaster. First of all, they know nothing about technology, so when I asked how they wanted my photos for the slide show they said put them on a DVD. A DVD? Is this 2001, okay, whatever I will do that. I did this and found out they do the slide show by putting the dvd in the player and the player scrolls through pictures. It doesn't loop however so every 10 minutes I had to restart it (super ghetto and embarassing). THEN they said for the music just to make a playlist and they will hook it up to my phone and play off that. Fine, cool. I showed them my phone and the input needed and they said they had what I needed no issue. Well, the day of the funeral I brought my phone in....the guy was wrong.....no adapter. I started panicking and playing off my phone with it under a microphone. My husband finally ran out and got a Bluetooth speaker. Finally it worked. THEN ladies and gents it gets BETTER. They proceeded to take all the tags off the flowers and memorial gifts and place them in a stack. So when we went to look at the flowers none of them were tagged. So we had no clue who sent us what gifts. It was an actual train wreck. I will NEVER use them again, even if the funeral is free. Most stressful and exhausting experience I have had with a funeral service. The staff was super nice but needs to get their crap together. At the end of the funeral I gave them the Bluetooth speaker and told them use this as a backup so you don't do this to someone else. Made my sad day even worse. I hate being so nasty because the guys were super sweet, but the experience was horrible. I was so stressed I didn't even get time to grieve.
My estranged father passed away back in 1985. It wasn't until recently, that I found out he was buried as an indigent, in Ohio. I had a very hard time processing this and found great comfort after speaking with Dan Pallay today. It was not an easy call for me to make, as I became very emotional. Dan was able to answer all of my questions, was very kind and incredibly helpful. Thank you Dan, for helping me find the closure I've been searching for my entire life and giving my father the burial we could not. You have helped my brothers & myself, in more ways than you could possibly imagine. We're forever greatful! ❤️
Dan Pallay is the whisperer of funeral home directors. He makes the process go smoothly. He took very good care of my Identical twin sister and my mother. He is a very intelligent man and knows all of the best advice. He is a quality person. My 89 year old grandmother is there now and his cremation price is reasonable. If you like kitty cats, well Dan has a couple who live there. They are really sweet! The receptionist is professional and down to earth. She's a kind lady.
Dan and the gentleman helping with the funeral were friendly. How ever my issue is we paid for a cd for the funeral but there was issues with the cd having pictures on it that was of myself and friend, one of which were in our swim wear. I did email them by accident and I even wrote them asking not to use the photos in the email because they were not of my deceased relative. I understand there was several emails sent due to my phone only allowing so many to be sent at a time. But when asked to have it fixed I was told Charlie was getting off shortly and it would take 30 minutes. I asked for them to please just take the 30 minutes to fix it and was refused. I was told the cd would be fixed the next day to give to the family. But the only reason we did the cd was for the funeral. Remind you we paid 50 dollars for a CD and no one would make it right because she wanted off at 5 and wouldn't stay to fix the issue so we could have it made right. So my suggestion is to show up an hour early if you have a cd being made by them and accidentally send photos that weren't meant to send because they will not fix the issue for the funeral. I am very disappointed. We will not be using this funeral home again. I'm sorry but after almost 3 grand and let alone a 50 dollar cd and saying our goodbyes to a loved one this issue should of been corrected, however no one seemed to care except the younger gentleman. Other than that it was ok.
